When she began her career as a breast surgeon, KCU College of Osteopathic Medicine alum Deepa Halaharvi, DO, never imagined receiving a diagnosis of the same disease just eight months after completing a breast surgical oncology fellowship.

When Elisa Vinyard, KCU-COM alumna, graduated from high school and left her small hometown of Maysville, Mo., she never envisioned should wind up back there, especially not as a family practice physician.

Taylor Karpeles, student doctor and mother of five, first discovered medicine as her calling during her pregnancies. She became fascinated with prenatal, labor and delivery care which led her to apply to osteopathic medical school at KCU.
